Pushing sales to the top
Ferdinand, or Ferdy as we call him, is an Economics major who joined Glico in 2014 after 16 years in the workforce. As someone who has always felt Glico's global presence, Ferdy also believes that the products are well-known in Indonesia and has potential for expansion.
His faith in the consistently good quality of Glico's products is why he thinks the company will continue to do well in the future.
A sales force to be reckoned with
Ferdy's responsibilities as Regional Sales Manager are working together with area distributors to ensure distribution of Glico products to all major stores, supermarkets and even local convenience stores.
Besides that, he provides assistance to three sales supervisors to carry out Glico's vision and mission in their respective fields, and maintains good work relations with distributors in order to secure purchase order as well as to get strategic display areas within stores.
Extending the domestic reach of Glico
From 2014 to 2017, Ferdy remembers that Glico Indonesia focused their sales efforts solely on National Key Account outlets. When this changed in 2018 to include small local stores within the Modern Trade Independent category, Ferdy had a challenging time dealing with store owners and managers directly to expand the display spaces for Glico products all on his own.
Drawing upon his strong leadership and communication skills, he was able to achieve his goals while providing guidance to the rest of his team.
