Sally has been leading consumer insight & analytics team in Glico Asia Pacific since in October 2017. She started out her prominent career in South Korea, learning the essential foundations of market research and application, before moving to Japan to take an oversea assignment for global responsibility. Her Japan experience yielded her broader perspectives, triggering to move to Singapore as an emerging hub of Pan Asia regional business ten years ago.

Having worked across various roles such as global, region and local for past 20 years, her wealth of experience in consumer insight and analytics make her an invaluable source of knowledge and business decision in Glico.

Reading consumers' minds and behaviour is part of my job

With years of experience under her belt, Sally first became attracted to Glico's corporate philosophy of 'A Wholesome Life in the Best of Taste'. Besides cherishing the long history and heritage behind the brands, Sally believes that Glico is serious about providing higher values to consumers by nurturing health & wellness and is committed to growing its brands in Asia in the long run.

Her current roles and responsibilities include consumer research, insight and analytics, whereby her team sheds light on what consumers want, and provide actionable insights in order to make the best strategic business decisions for Glico.

Furthermore, Sally's functions heavily influence innovation, as well as branding growth, marketing strategies and planning that align with the best in class consumer and shopper insights.

Stepping out of the box and into the future

In order to create new products or new campaigns that would delight consumers and increase the number of Glico fans in the region, Sally and her team have the complex job of finding out how and why consumers spend their money on certain products.

Through the process of analyzing and understanding critical data from consumer behaviour, she ensures that other departments within Glico have the right information to perform essential functions including direct marketing, R&D, Sales and customer relationship management.

Sally mentions that Innovation is the core value that comes to mind when facing challenges at work, as she has often found creative ways to overcome obstacles, and is constantly encouraged by Glico's support for employees thinking out of the box.
