Aisu Miruta
Glico predicted early on that chilled confectionery was a promising market for increasing sales in summer, and began producing and selling the product named “Ice Miruta” in Tokyo in 1953. Although it was only sold in certain areas, it can be considered the origin of Glico's ice cream business.
1963
Glico Cone
Taking a cue from ice cream packaged like a jet plane sold in the U.S., the company launched “Glico Cone,” a cone-shaped ice cream that was still rare in Japan. This is where Glico’s full-scale entry into the ice cream market began.

Re-released as Giants Cone
As a drastic reform, the company devised a new formula for imported ingredients to increase the volume while pursuing good flavor.

Aiming to increase demand for ice cream during colder months, limited-edition adult-oriented products were launched for the three main brands of ice cream (Aisu no Mi, Giant Cone, and Papico).
