SUNAO
2003
Calorie Control Ice, the Predecessor of SUNAO
In response to a request, “Can't you make an ice cream that even diabetics can eat with peace of mind?” the company reduced the calorie content to about half that of regular lactose-based ice cream (80 kcal) and began selling it mainly at hospital kiosks. Subsequently, it was sold in supermarkets and drugstores, and was a hit with people concerned about their calorie intake.

SUNAO Ice
Calorie Control Ice was later improved by focusing on carbohydrates rather than calories for health purposes to achieve a product low in sugar, and its value axis was shifted from “even diabetics can eat it” to “preventing diabetes.” Calorie Control Ice was rebranded to SUNAO. Our goal is to create a society where all people, not just those who are sick, can enjoy eating without guilt and stay healthy in mind and body. Focusing on prevention, our desire to contribute to society is connected to the spirit of our company's founding, and we pursue good taste and satisfaction based on appropriate sugar content.
