1999

Power Production:
Creatine Powder and Creatine Tablets

In anticipation of increasing health consciousness and an aging society, the health-related business that had been undertaken by each business division was consolidated into a single business unit. Glico's first sports supplement, “Power Production,” was launched from the newly established Health Food Division. The brand consists of three product lines: “Instant Energy,” “Endurance,” and “Conditioning.” The first round of products were two types of Power Production Creatine that quickly produces energy during high-intensity training and were developed for use at gyms and fitness clubs.

2000

Endurance and Conditioning Products for the Power Production Series

Following the launch of the creatine series of instant-energy products, in 1999, endurance products such as “HCA Tablets” were launched in March 2000, and conditioning products such as glutamine powder were released in September 2000.

2002

Power Production:
CCD Drink

Contains Cluster Dextrin (CCD), which was successfully mass-produced from starch in a joint development with another company. It is highly water soluble, and clinical trials conducted with universities in Japan and abroad have demonstrated its effectiveness in improving endurance and increasing muscle mass post exercise.

2003

“Extra Amino Acids” and “CCD PET Bottle” Debut to Further Enhance the Product Range

Glico added to the product range to expand the market. A team of dedicated sales representatives held seminars and product information sessions at sports-related facilities and other venues to provide detailed advice on how to consume the products.

2019

First Food with Functional Claims in the Series: Power Production Extra Amino Acids Theanine

This strategic rest supplement contains a well-balanced blend of L-theanine, which has been reported to reduce fatigue and drowsiness upon waking, as well as amino acids, vitamin B6, zinc, magnesium, glycogen, and other nutrients best taken during rest.

Power Production:
Sports Caramel

The product contains nutrients necessary for exercise and minerals that are lost through sweat, and can be chewed quickly or sucked slowly according to the situation to replenish energy.
